faq

All the important stuff you might want to know before you buy beats online

Not sure how licensing works or what files you’ll get? This FAQ covers the most common questions about licensing, delivery, and using beats commercially — no legal speak, just straight answers.

What is beat licensing?

When you buy beats online, you’re not just getting an audio file — you’re buying the rights to use someone else’s creative work in your own song. The license defines what you can and can’t do with the beat, depending on the tier you choose.

What is a type beat?

A type beat is mainly a way to describe a vibe or style based on what artists are commonly searching for — it helps with search visibility when people buy beats online. But don’t feel boxed in — your track doesn’t have to sound like anyone else’s. You can stay unique on any beat, no matter what it’s called.

Can I download your beats for free and use them non-commercially?

Not these ones — but I offer a selection of free for profit beats that you can use even in commercial projects. Just check out the Free Beats page.

Do you make custom beats?

No, I don’t take custom orders at the moment. But I regularly upload new beats — feel free to check back for fresh drops.

What’s the difference between MP3 and WAV?

MP3 files are compressed, which makes them smaller in size but slightly reduces their audio quality. While the difference is barely noticeable to the average listener, professional audio engineers typically prefer uncompressed WAV files for mixing and mastering.

What is a trackout, and why would I need it?

Trackouts (or stems) are separate audio files for each element of the beat — like the 808, snare, piano, and so on. They give you full control over the arrangement and mix. Want to mute the melody halfway through and keep only the drums? Easy with stems — something you can’t really do with a single, merged file. They also make it much easier for your engineer to properly mix your vocals with the beat.

Will the voice tag be removed in the beat I purchase?

Yes, absolutely. That voice saying “another, another” won’t be in the files you get after purchasing a license — all beats are delivered clean and untagged.

Do your beats contain samples?

Most of my beats don’t use samples. If I do use one, it’s properly cleared and licensed — no need to worry. I also never use samples as-is; I heavily flip and transform them into something new.

When I buy beats online, how fast will I get the files?

Instantly. Right after checkout, you’ll get an email with a download link, and you’ll be able to access your files right away.

Where can I release my song after buying a beat?

Anywhere you like — Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, SoundCloud, TikTok, and more. Once you’ve purchased a license, you’re cleared to upload your song on all major platforms.

Are your beats royalty-free? Will I owe you anything after I buy one?

Yes — once you license a beat, it’s royalty-free. That means no extra payments, no hidden splits, and no future revenue sharing.

Why can’t I register my song in Content ID systems?

Content ID checks the waveform of uploaded audio and flags matches — this can cause false claims or conflicts when using non-exclusive beats. To avoid these issues, it’s best not to register songs made with licensed beats in Content ID platforms. You can learn more about Content ID requirements here.

How should I credit the producer?

Just write “prod. by anotherxlife” or “music by anotherxlife” in the song title, metadata, or description — anywhere visible to your listeners. It’s a simple way to show respect for the work.

How do special deals like 'Buy 1 Get 1 Free' work?

Just add two beats with the same license to your cart — one of them will automatically be marked as free at checkout. You’ll see the discount applied before payment.
