Feeling like the CEO of a tech startup — my BeatStars Tag Analyzer will now be getting its own update posts, just like the big guys. The only difference is that my only employee is my dog, and the entire salary budget goes to energy drinks. But hey, progress is progress! This month, I’m especially excited about tracking top selling type beats and introducing new advanced filtering options — so let’s dive in!

Advanced filtering & sorting

BSTA now has a dedicated menu for filtering and sorting results. Previously, you could sort search queries simply by clicking on the table headers. However, I wanted even more control over the data to display only the results that matter most in the preferred order.

Now, for example, you can sort search queries based on popularity trends, allowing you to see which genres and type beats have gained the most traction over the past week:

This makes it easier to spot how recent events in the music industry and new releases influence search traffic. For instance, Drake and PartyNextDoor just dropped their collaborative album “Some Sexy Songs 4 U”, causing a 30% increase in searches related to PartyNextDoor on BeatStars. In fact, search queries related to PartyNextDoor quickly became some of the top selling type beats, and now they’ve got the top chart badge — another update I rolled out this month.

This is a feature I’ve wanted to add for a long time: you can now see which tags were in the BeatStars top chart at the time of the latest database update (which happens weekly). This insight helps you understand which genres and type beats are in high demand, as the BeatStars chart is primarily based on sales volume — the more beats you sell, the higher they rank:

However, you may notice that many top-charted tags have relatively low ratings. Top sellers often drive their sales through external channels like YouTube rather than relying solely on the BeatStars Marketplace. As a result, their beats dominate the top chart, but these same tags may not be effective for you if SEO is your primary traffic source.

So, consider the “top chart” label as an indicator that beats in that genre are selling well, but don’t blindly use those same tags unless you’re confident you can compete in a highly saturated market.

Other small improvements

BeatStars Tag Analyzer is constantly evolving, with continuous updates and refinements. One small but useful change this month was an improvement to the copy search query notification. Previously, the tool used a browser popup that required you to click “OK” to close it.

Now, the notification appears briefly to confirm the action and then disappears automatically — no extra clicks required, making the experience smoother and more efficient.

That’s it for this update! ✌️ What do you think of these new features? Anything you’d like to see next? Drop a comment or hit me up on Instagram — I’m always open to ideas. And if you haven’t checked out my BeatStars Tag Analyzer with the latest top selling type beats feature yet, now’s the perfect time!
